Who Are We? We are a
non-denominational, full-gospel, body of believers
reaching out in the love of Jesus. We believe in healing,
miracles, the gifts and fruit of the Spirit, and laying on of
hands.
Our Vision in this ministry is:
1. To proclaim the Lord, Jesus Christ. 2. To reach out to
the lost with the power of His Spirit. 3. To train and
equip the body of Christ with practical teaching from the Word
of God.
Core Beliefs. We believe that
the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. It is the basis for all
Christian doctrine and is accurate in all that it affirms. The
Bible is the source for Christian faith and practice and is to
be adhered to by all believers. Although penned by human
authors, its every word is inspired by God and was
superintended by the Holy Spirit in such a way that it is the
very Word of the one true and living God (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2
Pet. 1:20-21).
We believe in one God over all creation.
He created all that is out of nothing (ex-nihilo) (Heb. 11:3).
He spoke and the worlds were created by His very word (Gen.
1). God is sovereign over creation and He is infinitely above
the created order.
Yet, we believe that this God who is
infinitely beyond creation has chosen to be intimately
involved with it. So much so that He sent His only begotten
Son to die on the cross to atone for the sins of men (Jn.
3:16). Jesus Christ, God's Son, was the Word made flesh who
dwelt among us (Jn. 14:6). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary (Lk. 1:35). He walked upon the
earth form 33 years in the form of man and went about doing
good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts
10:38). In Him dwelt the fullness of the godhead bodily, He
was the express image of God (Col. 2:9).
Christ came
unto His own and yet was rejected (Jn. 1:11). He was nailed to
a cross and suffered horrible torture in order to bring
redemption to mankind. Jesus was crucified, dead, and buried
and yet He rose on the third day with victory over death,
hell, and the grave. He who knew no sin became sin that all
who believe in Him may become the righteousness of God in Him
(2 Cor. 5:21). He is the way, the truth, and the life; no man
comes to the Father except through Him (Jn. 14:6). The name of
Jesus is the only name given under heaven whereby a man may be
saved (Acts 4:12)
Mankind is the crown of God's
creation. Man is the only member of the created order that was
made in the very image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:26-27). He
was not created as a sinful creature, yet he chose to disobey
God's commands in the Garden of Eden. As a result, man fell
from the relationship with God for which he had been created.
Every human since Adam has been born into a depraved and
fallen condition. The only way to be back in right condition
with God is through the atoning work of Christ. Man must
receive Christ as Savior, he must believe in his heart and
confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and that God the
Father has raised Him from the dead (Rom. 10:9-10). The
cleansing power of the blood of Jesus must be received by each
man if his name is to be written in the Lamb's book of
life.
We believe that each member of the body of Christ
should be actively engaged in the process of sanctification.
We are to be continually pressing toward the mark of the high
calling in God until that day when Christ is formed in us
(Philippians 3:13-14). One day we shall be like Him for we
shall see Him as He is (1 Jn. 3:2). The indwelling presence of
the Holy Spirit, who is resident inside every believer, gives
the power to be conformed to the image of God.
We
believe that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever
(Heb. 13:8). Therefore, the gifts of the Spirit as described
by the Apostle Paul are still in operation today (1 Cor.
12-14). God is still doing miracles today and calls His
people, both leadership and laity, to be co-laborers with Him
in the work of the kingdom of heaven (Mark 16:20). Jesus
Himself declared that those who believe in Him would do the
works that He did and even greater (Jn. 14:12).
We
believe that the church is not a building or an organization
but rather a living organism that consists of every individual
who has believed in Jesus as Savior and Lord. The church
should be governed in accordance to the dictates of the Word
of God. Leaders are certainly called to a great calling that
is not to be taken lightly (1 Tim. 3:1; Lk. 12:48). They
should follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus who plainly
stated that He came not to be served but to serve and to give
His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). Laity should be
involved in the work of the ministry and should make the
pastor's job a joy instead of a burden. Both leadership and
laity should get behind the vision which God has for the
ministry that He has blessed them to be co-laborers in.
Believers are to be committed to God and to one another in a
way that goes far beyond mere lip service.
We believe
in the ordinances of baptism and communion. Acts 2:38 clearly
states that those who would be Christians should repent and be
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins
and then they would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Christ
Himself was baptized as an example for believers to follow
that all righteousness may be fulfilled (Matt. 3:13-17).
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward happening that
manifests allegiance with and a good conscience towards God.
Communion was instituted by the Lord in the Last Supper and
the Christian expression of the ordinance was further
explicated by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 11. The cup
signifies the blood that was shed for the remission of sins
and the bread symbolizes the body of the Lord that was broken
for our benefit. As with baptism, there are spiritual
implications to Communion that go beyond the physical act and
elements involved. Christ desires to have continual communion
with His children through His Word and through an active
devotional life.
We believe that Christ shall
ultimately return to judge the living and the dead (1 Pet.
4:5). Though no man knows the day or the hour, the time will
come when the kingdoms of this world finally and fully become
the kingdoms of our God and of His Christ (Matt. 24:36; Rev.
11:15). The sheep will be separated from the goats with the
deciding factor being whether one has come to faith in Christ.
Jesus continually comes to men through His Word, a trumpet is
continually sounding. If one hopes to enter into the kingdom
of God at the sounding of the last trumpet, then he must
certainly yield himself to the trumpet that is presently
resounding.
We believe that all things in ministry
should be done decently and in order and to the glory of God
(1 Cor. 14:40). It is from Him that every good and perfect
gift comes (Jam. 1:17). He is worthy of all the praise. To Him
who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb be blessing, honor,
glory, and power forever (Rev. 5:13).
